The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

I'm starting to get sick of my journal header >_>  I had some css in the works but it's also ugly so i need to start over nyeeeehhh

So this weekend is my orientation for my school next year: UCLA!  it's three days, sunday through tuesday....woooo....I better get my questions answered because as it stands now  I need to take math 31A before I can take physics 1AH (honors)....but they don't offer physics 1AH in winter quarter (first quarter is fall)!!  gnnyaaaaaah what i am supposed to do >:[

Been pretty prolific with art lately....working on numerous things that I can't decide which to finish first.  So i end up doing messing around things instead (see latest upload....>_>)

I did enter wen-m's anima contest but I'm not uploading the pic until he announces the winners.  Why?  I dunno...But I'm seeing others' entries now and I'm like "D:" I worked SOOOO hard on that pic @w@;;  I honestly don't know which category mine was put in either, because I feel like i'm borderline D:

Oh well!  I'm still proud of it even if i don't win anything

Whoo! Congrats on UCLA. I know a few people who went there. If you've taken the equivalent of math 31A somewhere else or you can prove that you totally don't need it to get into physics you can probably got teacher or counselor permission to get into the class. I had a lot of pre-reqs I ended up just taking and being bored to death learning basic html or english as a second language (yeah... the counselors really fucked up there.) You don't want to waste your time and money taking something you totally already know.

Calc A will count with a score of 5. Calc AB will count with 4 or 5 (or something along those lines). You can also test out of it during orientation.
