Oh, this made me terribly sad when I found out :(

The first thing I'd read of Vonnegut's was "Harrison Bergeron", and it really struck a chord with me.  When I finished it I thought "who wrote this?" and found Mr. Vonnegut.  You can read the short story here--> [link]
Then last year I read Slaughterhouse Five, and while I probably didn't 'get' it the way it was meant to be 'gotten', I enjoyed it and I realise now I should probably go read Breakfast of Champions like I keep telling myself to do.

Anyway, I had a lot of respect for Vonnegut and was delighted when I saw him on the Daily Show, old as he was, still energetic as ever.

I was going to make a complaint thread about this but then people would just be like "this isn't a complaint blahblahblah" even though I can complain about this just in a different way.

I was sad when I heard that, too!

I find myself often thinking of "Harrison Bergeron"--My teacher read it to my class in... I'm thinking fifth grade. Whenever I go to the house of someone who owns a pet bird, I always think of that story because the birds WON'T STOP SHRIEKING and I can't think. XD He was a great author; I'll miss him.
