Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.
And this is becoming a growing problem, I think, because n

I might have to pick up the FFVI remake sometime. I've played it before and all (well, and heck, it's my favorite FF after IX) but... extra dungeons >_> always fun.

i usually find extra dungeons kind of boring unless there's something really good at the end or it has a mini-story or something. But like in the xenosagas i didn't really find any reason to do them.

ahaha my favorite character so far is Celes. I think my favorite dude is either Edgar(because he's just a cool dude) or Cyan(because he's unintentionally funny

unfortunately for some reason I can never -really- get into rpgs that I play on handhelds; for some reason i always forget what's going on and stuff like that (like in ffi, ii, sword of mana..). But it's definitely capturing my interest

The last handheld game I played where i was really into it was Link's Awakening.
