Well, for some reason I have big plans for myself this summer. I probably have 4 different video games I want to play, am going to paint more with real paint on canvas and stuff, really focus on improving my art so I can maybe get in an artbook, I want to sew something, and I want to make a little leather book (i don't really want to make the paper because that's really tricky, but I want to bind and tool and all that) for a little fake travel narrative i'm writing. Oh and I also want to get a pair of roller blades and actually exercise for once.

But I still feel like I'm not doing enough, with work in addition to that!

So I was looking at some videos of Stradivarius violins because I'd never heard one before, and I was thinking how awesome it would be to be a craftsman who could make awesome stuff. I want to learn a craft and make awesome things with my hands. But I have no idea what! So please, give your input as to what skill/craft you think I would do well in

Things not to suggest:
-Drawing/painting: Duh, I already do this every single day of my life.
-Sewing: I'm good at sewing but it's not something I want to consciously get better at, really.
-Music: I played piano for a while and got rusty, but still tinker around with it when I'm bored, and I don't really want to pursue it. I have an electric guitar but two levels of lessons taught me my fingers are waaaaay too short and delicate for the strings Also since you pretty much have to really stand out to be considered unique (since a lot of people play guitar) I don't really think it'd be worth it to me since I'm not that hot about it anyway. And then for any other instrument, I'd have to go out and buy it and take lessons and stuff, which I don't want to do since it's likely I'll forget about it later.

So please, tell me your ideas! Something unique and cool I can become skilled at!

EDIT: Ok I ran a check on the volume which took like two hours but nothing came up, then proceeded to boot with the noise still going, then it mysteriously stopped about 20 minutes later. My dad said his comp used to make the same noise, but never got a blue screen, and it just stopped one day. So hopefully I lucked out and nothing is wrong with my drive.

Ok I don't have much time to write this because I don't know when my computer is going to bluescreen me.

I got a new harddrive during spring break (march) and it's been working fine but all of a sudden yesterday it starts to make this high-pitched buzz, so I shut it down because I was going to be anyway. Then today I didn't turn on my comp til 2, and at 3 it started buzzing again. I ignored it to see if it would go away, but I got a blue screen after 10 minutes saying my hardware was not hooked up correctly. Oh, before that I was trying to save my files on my flash drive in case something did happen, but halfway through it said it couldn't find any of the filepaths. That corroborates what my comp said about the hardware being not connected.

So I shut it down and opened the case, replugged everything back in, and now it works initially but I can hear the noise again and I don't want to be interrupted by the blue screen of death.

This is just lovely; I have a 12-page paper to write next week and I don't know what's wrong with my comp. Luckily I was able to get my files on my flash drive (hopefully) uncorrupted so if I have to I can work at the computer lab.

But I can't draw or do anything where I have to save because I don't nkow when it'll show up.. So this is heads up I can only check my dA and stuff for a little bit at a time.

Thoughts/help???? PLEASE!!

seriously ~YummyKitty is one of my favorite artists and i still can't believe this isn't a commission I paid $100 dollars for BECAUSE THAT IS HOW MUCH YOU SHOULD CHARGE FOR AMAZING STUFF LIKE THIS >:U and I don't care if I sound like a shrieking fangirl but seriously. fuckin' look at it. It's amazing. I'm going to go die happy now.

Hello!

So I was painting today and I noticed that whenever I try to draw someone really gracefull or pretty, I can do it pretty well but there's a subtle awkwardness in there somewhere that I've grown quite fond of. I realized that that's somewhat like me: I try to be graceful and poised most of the time, but really I'm very awkward and clumsy. And I've known for a long time that I tend to draw people with very straight eyebrows, and I have very straight eyebrows myself.

So, tell me! What have you noticed in your drawings that reflects you in some way?

Hey y'all. I was wondering if anyone who reads this is a member/draws frequently at Niko's Paintchat? I'd like to try paintchat but like, I don't know any and I wouldn't want to just show up out of the blue someplace. Niko's is like the most popular one and a lot of great artists draw there and it would be totally awesome to see -3-

um so tell me if it's friendly and or cool or whatever. I never never ever chat with people I don't know so this would be a first plus i would just be embarrassed in general drawing in front of people. So if you draw there tell me how you like it and what not.

other news:
I dropped physics lab (omg yes) and it's been pretty cool. Doing work at a good pace, but it's not killing me. And i'm actually interested in my research paper. But I found out I have to have a lot more secondary sources D: I like primary sources...they're nifty...but i guess i misunderstood the purpose of the research paper

I'm doing another true faith-styled pic right now and I just finished painting the girl's skin in greyscale.....WOW greyscale is actually REALLY FUN in photoshop.

ALSO!!!! I won ~YummyKitty's OC contest and she's going to draw Roller Battler for me :'D Omg i was so happy when I found out because she's so awesome and a great artist @w@
